Kuala Lumpur was the first stop on our 2023 Asia tour and the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur was the first hotel. The hotel consists of 662 rooms distributed across 10 categories, we were accommodated on the 14th floor in two Horizon executive suites with access to the “Horizon Club”, a lounge that opens throughout the day and where we can have breakfast, refreshments and a 5 o’clock tea rich in diversity and flavor. The suites offer all the amenities, whether we are traveling for leisure or work, with the added bonus of views of the city center. I’ve always been enchanted by seeing a big city like Kuala Lumpur from an elevated plane, the excitement of everyday life, the lights and hustle and bustle of the night, memorable. But returning to the suites, simply perfect service, from house keeping to premium amenities, everything works to provide us with maximum comfort and well-being.

At the Shang Palace restaurant, the Shang Palace experience begins at its entrance adorned with celestial dragons, where the color red and imperial decoration predominates, we feel that we are entering a unique place and where we will be very happy. Here we have the best Cantonese cuisine, meticulously prepared and presented on an extensive pork-free menu. The main dining room offers stunning views of the hotel’s lush gardens, while eight private dining rooms provide an intimate setting for special occasions. Among the signature dishes we highlight the famous Peking Duck.
Meanwhile, Arthur’s Bar and Grill at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is the ideal destination for drinks, casual dining and unwinding after a long day. Inspired by Manhattan pub-style concepts, the space exudes warmth with its wood, leather and brick furniture. The space features a menu that combines Western and local Malaysian specialties. From the classic Arthur’s Beef Burger and Minced Beef and Mushroom Pie to the ever-popular Fish & Chips, we’ve found an array of tempting options. In addition, local favorites such as Char Kway Teow, Malaysian Satay, Seafood Mee Mamak and even vegetarian dishes are available, ensuring there is something to satisfy every palate.
When it comes to wellness and entertainment, the Health Club & Spa at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur offers a holistic wellness experience, a fully equipped gymnasium for a complete workout and a spa retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation, essential after the kilometers traveled exploring the city.
