Nobu Ibiza Bay – Local Culture

We traveled to Ibiza to visit one of its ex-libris, far beyond nightclubs, beaches or local “chiringitos” such as the Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay that largely define the destination, at least for those who like to visit the best hotels in the best possible locations. Nobu hotels result from a perfect symbiosis between contemporary and relaxed luxury and the Japanese minimalist tradition, they are lifestyle hotels that launch new trends and are references in the places where they are located. The Nobu Group is led by the world famous Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, the concept of Nobu hotels is based on a premium experience with the global parameters of the brand but a strong integration of culture, customs and local cuisine. Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is located on the shores of Talamanca Bay, away from the hustle and bustle but at the same time on the beach and close to all points of interest. The seafront promenade is just opposite, a short walk takes you to the trendy boutiques and restaurants in Marina Botafoch and to Ibiza’s old town, one of the highest points in Ibiza and which we love.

In the rooms and suites at the Ibiza Bay, quality is indisputable, the color palette of white, gold, blue and sea green delicately decorate the rooms that were designed so that we can make the most of life outdoors, it is a hotel that exudes summer and animation and this can be felt from the first second, from the dramatic entrance that takes us immediately to the pool with the sea in the background, passing through the huge “open spaces” that proliferate throughout the hotel, we love it. But back to the rooms, there is no lack of refined details such as pendant lamps in handcrafted crystal, local crafts and works of art, the spirit of the island is present in every detail. In the bathrooms, the white marble dominates, the large bathtubs and the enormous “rain showers”, the lighting does the rest of the magic. There are types for all tastes, from the fantastic sea view suites to connecting rooms perfect for families with children.

At Chambao restaurant there are no rigid schedules, the spirit of letting yourself be carried away by what the day (and night) offers us is always present. Breakfast, served at the Chambao Restaurant, is a hymn to what can be done at this important meal, fresh, local products, a bright and balanced buffet combined with a complete à la carte menu where nothing is missing. Sweet, savory, hot, cold, quality is a constant, from the bread to the freshly squeezed juices, the avocado toast and obviously the fantastic bread with tomato and ham, it will be possible to visit Spain without eating this delicacy. Chambao By the Beach is the “chiringito” beach bar at Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, open to all and perfect for those late lunches always with the sea and sun as company. Specialties include freshly grilled fish, the finest cuts of meat, authentic paella, various salads, exotic cocktails and a delicate selection of wines. A delicious Mediterranean experience overlooking the sea.

The Nobu Restaurant occupies a central place in the hotel and it is easy to understand why, it is unique and the great attraction that, however, offers a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere, and at the same time that special excitement does not leave us, even for a second, to visit a Nobu Restaurant is just that, a merry-go-round of endless emotions. We savored most of Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature Japanese dishes, such as Tiradito, Yellow Tail Sashimi with Jalapeño and Black Cod Miso, not forgetting the sushi, tempuras, tacos and much more, it’s a spectacular gastronomic adventure where the ingredients play a fundamental role, but their preparation takes them to a very high level of quality, we always want to come back to Nobu, always.

Nieves Barragán Mohacho, Michelin-starred chef at the London restaurant SABOR, has returned to his roots and guides us through an inimitable gastronomic experience at GUSTO, which offers us the best of Spain without leaving the Bay of Ibiza. It was here that we ate the best “fried fish with rice broth” of our lives, fresh, quality and local ingredients, in signature dishes in addition to rice broth, soft tortilla with artichoke crujiente and special croquettes, the level of execution is perfect, but above all it uniquely combines family cooking with haute cuisine and that special flavor that is immediately identified. Open for dinner, it offers us a perfect meal in a magical place.

Ibiza Bay – Two swimming pools, one for adults and one for the family, occupy a prominent place and this is where we spend most of the day, between diving at the beach and pool, walking along the seafront walkway and sunbathing in the comfortable rest stations created for this purpose (sunbeds, beds and cabins) that make us lose track of time and days, is there a better feeling for a vacation? The spirit that is lived here is unique, it may seem like an ordinary place, but one feels that we are in a special place, which offers us that relaxed atmosphere, but with enormous exclusivity, a place where we want to return time and time again and where we were very welcomed, thank you all.
